River Cohen, the CEO of River Cohen Giving, is announcing the introduction of a new college scholarship worth $1,000 and intended for use toward the pursuit of higher education. Through the creation of the River Cohen College Scholarship, the dedicated philanthropist behind River Cohen Giving hopes to help the award-winning applicant offset the onerous costs associated with attending a college or university.
The new scholarship is open to applicants who are currently enrolled in a college, university, design school, or trade school, as well as to high school students graduating during the 2017 calendar year who have gained acceptance to a college, university, design school, or trade school. River Cohen Giving is currently accepting applications from all eligible students interested in applying for the new scholarship, and the submission deadline is November 30, 2017. The winner will be selected in December of 2017 and notified in early January of 2018.
“We are proud to offer this new scholarship opportunity to the many worthy students hoping to further their education at an institute of higher learning,” said River Cohen, the longtime philanthropist and CEO of River Cohen Giving. “I am looking forward to the opportunity to join our committee in reading each applicant’s essay, and I am so very grateful that River Cohen Giving is in a position to promote the endless rewards made possible through a consistent dedication to academic and philanthropic endeavors.”
The application process, as noted by River Cohen Giving’s CEO, includes the submission of a brief essay on the subject of philanthropy. According to the application guidelines detailed by River Cohen Giving, the essay, which should not exceed 500 words, is to be structured as a response to the following question: “How can philanthropy change the world?”
Students interested in applying for the new River Cohen College Scholarship may do so through a digital application form available on an immediate basis at http://rivercohengiving.com. The essay on philanthropy can be uploaded via the same digital application form, provided the application and essay are submitted in advance of the deadline of November 30, 2017.
